ADULT EDUCATION DETAILS

At B'nai Abraham we believe that Jewish learning is a lifetime commitment. We offer many opportunities for adults/parents to learn with their children as well as on their own.  We provide classes and experiences that are designed to increase knowledge and participation in the cycle of the Jewish year.  Learning opportunities are opened up to the entire community.  Sunday School is $50. per student per semester for members.  $100 per student per semester for non-members.  Please contact our Treasurer Scott Lans at slans@aol.com for scholarship programs.  Please feel free to contact our Education Director, Edna Feldman-Schultz, by e-mail at  choockies@sbcglobal.net

After Sunday Religious school there will be an Adult Hebrew class from 12 Noon to 1:00 PM (Teenagers, Pre or Post B’nai Mitzvah, and College Students are also welcome.)  We will need at least 5 students.  Classes begin on September 9, 2007

There will be 20 lessons total; you can pay weekly for $15/hr for members $25/hr for non-members.  Lessons need to be paid a week in advance and there will be no refunds for missing a class.

Upcoming Bar Mitzvahs

and Bat Mitzvahs

NO BAR/BAT MITZVAHS SCHEDULED

To The Bar/Bat Mitzvah Students:

   The Board of Directors of Congregation B’nai Abraham and Rabbi Ira Youdovin welcome potential Bar/Bat Mitzvahs.  We expect that all Bar/Bat Mitzvah students will:

 1.   Attend at least two continuous years of religious school in an approved congregation, prior to the Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

2.  Attend Friday night services, Saturday activities, and/or help with the religious school during the year before the Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

 

3.  Perform a mitzvah project.

4.  The students and their parents must meet with the Rabbi at least three times prior to the Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

    Exceptions to these expectations must be approved by the Board of Directors of Congregation B’nai Abraham and the Rabbi.
